Why do I have to send this to management on an annual basis?
"Please just send calendar invites, rather than an initial email with tentative reservations. You can modify the calendar entries if the dates/times change, and it will update all of our calendars, instead of leading to us creating our own entries which then get out of sync."
@dbs Most computer users don't want to be using the computer beyond the absolute bare minimum they need to. No matter how much time it might save them to actually engage with their tools, they won't.
@dbs +100000000 ... within our department, we do a good job with this but once scheduling reaches the upper levels of the organization the calendar events get rarer and rarer.
In my experience, it really depends on which executive assistant (or program/project manager) ends up actually doing the work of scheduling the event. Some are good about sending true invites with a "HOLD: " in the title until it's all confirmed and some just send a "Hold the date!" email.
