Someone in IT wanted to be able to push to the SFTP server I set up. "OK", I said, "send me your SSH public key!"

A week later, still no response, so I asked if they wanted me to set up password-based auth instead. "Nope", they said, "the person responsible for this has been sick. Just waiting for them to get back."

How on Earth does *that* (assuming "that" means "one person is responsible for creating SSH keys") make sense?

I am befuddled.
